Jumping and gliding through the waves as boats leave a wake of raised water to play in, underneath - is a whole new world. I wanted to create a sense of tranquillity and serene calmness within this piece. Opting for muted down turquoise and deep tones to enhance the waters surface reflecting the personalities of each dolphin below. Having just breached the surface, we don't usually get to see the aftermath of the dive, for this I wanted to create a sense of harmony and offer a new observation of life underneath the surface. Clattering away in their captivating supersonic language reveals almost a song like note swaying through the ocean.

Each dolphin has been carefully detailed, focusing on blending and shading where bubbles break and natural shadows fade into the deep, bright whites and electrifying yellow hues sit comfortably within the reflections from the surface that gently envelop the dolphins as they rise again from the depths.

Pale pinks and crisp honey hues are speckled throughout, enhancing the translucent bursts of micro bubbles and air pockets, creating movement within the finished piece.
