Perranporth beach, Loved by surfers from all walks of life. A popular tourist destination complete with high dunes and beautiful natural scenery, from cliffs to the picturesque views of the open ocean, swimmers and beach goers complete with an onsite bar called the Wateringhole.

This depiction of a view from the popular beach is focusing on the channel of water that runs opposite and into the ocean, between the iconic flagged landmark to the left of the beach itself. creating almost a miniature seaside within itself which is perfect for shallow swimming and paddling. For this study, Robert included a sketch interpretation of the lifeguards watching over as beach goers enjoy the relaxing open space of the sand. Cliffs in the background portray the popular paragliding sport that can frequently be observed from the beach. All of this is beautifully represented using washes of vivid tones of watercolour and fine linear detailing to create a sketch like contemporary and modernist feel to the overall painting.
